Supply Chain Lead
D2C Gifting | UK & Netherlands
Hybrid: London
This is a rare opportunity to build a supply chain capability, not simply inherit one.
A high-growth D2C gifting business is expanding into new categories. With more products, greater seasonal complexity and a growing SKU base, it now needs a Supply Chain Lead who can turn an evolving operation into a scalable, data-led function.
The challenge is not maintaining an established planning system. It is designing the logic, tools and processes the business needs before moving to a long-term platform.
You will lead stock planning across the UK and Netherlands, improving availability while reducing excess inventory, waste and working-capital risk.
What you’ll be doing:
• Building the stock planning strategy, processes and reporting needed to support continued growth
• Creating scalable planning and inventory tools using Google Sheets, automation and practical AI workflows
• Turning complex stock data into clear commercial insight, risks and actions
• Improving availability while managing slow-moving and obsolete stock
• Establishing KPIs and a weekly operating rhythm that moves the function from reactive to proactive
• Coaching stock planners to become stronger analytical decision-makers
• Working closely with Procurement, Commercial, Range, Quality, Warehouse and senior leadership
• Managing supplier and third-party warehouse performance
• Supporting operational planning directly during peak periods or when issues arise
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience across supply planning, inventory, procurement or purchasing
• A background in a fast-growing D2C, ecommerce, retail or consumer business
• Evidence of building or significantly improving planning tools and processes
• Excellent spreadsheet and data capability, with a practical approach to automation
• A clear understanding of availability, margin, waste, working capital and inventory risk
• The ability to work from first principles rather than relying on established systems
• Strong stakeholder leadership and the judgement to influence at senior level
• A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery
Formal management experience is useful, but it is not the defining requirement. The business needs someone who can think strategically, coach others and build repeatable solutions to complex operational problems.
The role can be based around London with one to two days a week on site.
