Junior CRM Developer

Are you that email developer who gets excited about perfect pixel rendering across every device?

You know the one – you’re the person who spots when an email looks slightly off in Outlook, who understands why responsive design matters more in email than anywhere else, and who genuinely cares about making sure every customer gets a beautiful experience, no matter what they’re reading on.

If you’ve been building HTML and CSS email templates and you’re ready to take your skills to the next level, this could be precisely what you’re looking for.

What’s happening here: Our client – a rapidly growing health-focused pet brand – is going through massive expansion. They’ve just acquired another company, are migrating their entire e-commerce platform, and are undertaking a complete rebrand starting in January. Translation?

They need someone who can hit the ground running with email development while navigating one of the biggest growth phases in their company’s history.

Why this matters for your career: This isn’t just another “junior” role where you’ll be making tea and watching from the sidelines. You’ll be working directly with their Senior CRM Developer (let’s call her your mentor and technical guide), taking real briefs, and building actual campaigns that thousands of customers will see. They typically send 4-5 emails per week, up to 25 or more when you factor in all the variations and seasonal campaigns.

The best part? They’ve already built out a comprehensive HTML master template system. You’re not starting from scratch – you’re working with proven, commented code that actually works. But you’ll have plenty of room to learn, grow, and eventually move into more advanced automation and personalisation work.

What you’ll be doing:
Coding responsive email templates using HTML and CSS (the good stuff)
Taking creative briefs and turning them into pixel-perfect campaigns
Testing across multiple email clients using tools like Litmus
Working with their Klaviyo platform to execute campaigns
Learning email accessibility standards and best practices
Collaborating with a tight-knit team that supports each other

What we’re looking for: Here’s the non-negotiable bit – you need solid HTML and CSS experience, specifically for email development. Not just web development (though that’s great too), but actual email template coding experience. You know the difference between building for Chrome and building for Outlook.

Beyond that, if you’ve worked with ESPs like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar platforms, that’s brilliant. If you understand responsive design, email accessibility, or have agency experience, even better. But mostly, we want someone who’s passionate about the craft and ready to learn.

What they’re offering: £35-37k base salary plus a decent bonus scheme (one month’s salary if targets are hit). Fully remote with flexible hours. And here’s something you don’t see everywhere – you’ll be making a difference. This is a company that genuinely cares about pet health and wellbeing, so your work has a real impact.

This position starts at the end of September. The team is small but growing rapidly – they plan to make more hires next year. You’ll report to their Senior Developer, who’s brilliant at mentoring and won’t just throw you in the deep end.

Why you should be interested: Because opportunities like this don’t come around often. You get established systems, proper mentorship, real responsibility, and a clear path forward in a company that’s scaling fast. Plus, if you love pets, you’ll fit right into their mission-driven culture.
